What do we do?
At Open Heart, we aim to rebuild hope where it’s been damaged or lost. We work with those in need, those who are underprivileged, and those who are underserved to rebuild and restructure.
WHERE THERE ARE PEOPLE IN NEED, WE’LL BE THERE LENDING A HAND, A SMILE, AND AN ENCOURAGING WORD.
MISSION & VISION
To coordinate, supervise and strengthen the work of a body of chaplains and chaplains, with a high commitment in the exercise of the work entrusted to them as instruments of God, for the integral restoration of the people who are under their coverage.
f you have able hands, we want your help. Whether it’s serving food aid in a kitchen, painting walls of a newly repaired home, or collecting donations, we need you. And so do communities in need.
We’re continually working hard to improve communities throughout the state. If you’re interested to see what we’ve been doing recently (especially if you want to help), check out our project list.
What is a Chaplain?
The ministry of the chaplaincy is an ancient and noble call within the church. The chaplain’s ministry is to share and offer the love of God to all those who are in need.
We form chaplains capable of:
Train and form perfect professionals chaplains to offer short and long term chaplaincy service to the Armed Forces, ministries, prisons, hospitals, hospices, governmental and private companies.
They are true to their values!
Promote Christian values and ethical principles as modeled by Jesus.
They are intermediaries!
Serve as an intermediary between the government, private institutions and Christian chaplains, overseeing the professional practice of the chaplaincy, and providing the widest possible collaboration to the public and private sectors.
They provide tools!
Provide the members with the necessary tools so that they can offer a high quality chaplaincy ministry, but above all, uphold the name of our Lord.
Maintaining healthy, happy environments is an important, and often neglected part of aid work. We work with local community organizers closely.
To do great work, you need tools. While blood, sweat and tears have built empires, classrooms still need paper and pencils.
“If you teach a man to fish…” Education gives everyone the tools they need to succeed through their lives.
Empty stomachs hurt. They break concentration and make the future seem impossible. Giving food is essential for creating health.
We strongly believe that helping others is important and we want you to be part of it.
